A design consultancy for a Victorian family home in Trinity, focused on bringing greater warmth, character and cohesion to the existing kitchen, dining area and snug.

The clients wanted to refresh the spaces without undertaking a complete renovation, retaining much of what already worked while making considered changes that would have a significant visual impact. The brief was to create a home that felt warm, welcoming and contemporary, with a subtle country influence that suited the character of the property.

The design direction centred around giving the existing kitchen a new identity rather than replacing it entirely. Deep green cabinetry, warm neutral walls, walnut tones, aged brass and natural stone were introduced to create a richer, more layered palette, with rust and burgundy accents carrying warmth into the adjoining spaces.

Alongside the overall concept, Room Service advised on cabinetry finishes and colour, worktops, a bespoke brass splashback, paint colours, lighting, dining furniture, seating, storage and the snug, creating a clear framework for the clients to take forward with their chosen suppliers and trades.

The result is a scheme designed to feel considered rather than completely “new” — making better use of what is already there and showing how a series of thoughtful changes can transform the feeling of a home.
